Medaille students:
All undergraduate and graduate Medaille students may check library videos and
DVDs for 4 days, unless they have been placed on reserve. No
more than two videos or DVDs may be checked out at a time. Videos and DVDs may
be renewed one time for an additional 4 days, unless another
patron has placed a hold on the item, or they are reserved for a class during
the same time period.
Overdue fines are $1.00/day. Items 30 days overdue will be billed for replacement
costs plus a $25.00 processing fee. Borrowers will be
advised of fees when checking out.
Medaille staff:
Medaille staff may check out library videos and DVDs for 4 days, unless they
have been placed on reserve.
Videos and DVDs may be renewed one time for an additional 4 days, unless another
patron has placed a hold on the item, or they are
reserved for a class during the same time period.
Medaille faculty:
Faculty may check out videos and DVDs for 14 days, unless they have been placed
on reserve.
Videos and DVDs may be renewed, unless another patron has placed a hold on the
item, or they are reserved for a class during the same
time period.
Exceptions to Borrowing Rights:
Alumni, Infopass users and "Other" patron types may not borrow videos
and DVDs. Videos and DVDs are not loaned through ILL.
Videos and DVDs placed on Reserve:
Faculty may place videos and DVDs on two types of reserve:
Library use only:
If a faculty member has assigned their students to view a video or DVD, it will
be placed on Reserve - Library use only. The video or DVD
should not be checked out to students, staff or faculty, except for in-library
use, with the exception of the faculty member who placed the video
or DVD on reserve.
Two Day Faculty Reserve - Upon request by faculty members, videos and DVDs
will be placed on Two-Day Faculty Reserve.
These may also be held for a faculty member for class use on specified dates.
At all other times, faculty members may check out these videos
and DVDs for 2 days. Students may check them out for in-library use only.
This policy will be effective beginning September 26, 2005.
