ICUN Red List of Threatened Species
Data on more than 11,000 plant and animal species that are endangered or extinct. Searchable by region of the world, country, common name, taxonomy, and category (extinct, extinct in the wild, critically endangered, endangered, vulnerable.) Also provides summary statistics from the database.

Journal of Biology
New international journal includes biological research articles from all areas of biology. Articles are published immediately and are freely accessible on the Internet. Additional peer-reviewed biological and medical journals are available through the BioMed Central web site.

National Library for the Environment
Provides information on a wide range of environmental issues. Includes over 600 full text reports from the Congressional Research Service, plus links to environmental laws, online journals, news, career information, etc.

National Science Digital Library
NSDL is a digital library of resource collections and services for science, technology, engineering and mathematics education at all levels.

Neurosciences on the Internet
A very large index of Internet resources in the fields of neurobiology, neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, psychology, cognitive science and human neurological diseases.

NIH Rat Genomics and Genetics
The central point for information on NIH sponsored and related rat genetic and genomic activities and resources.

An international news magazine that reports on and analyzes the issues and events of importance to life scientists. Available on the Web through BioMedCentral.

Scorecard: an environmental information service provided by the Environmental Defense Fund
Provides information on environmental problems, such as air and drinking water quality, hazardous wastes, radon, health effects, etc. on the national, state and community level. By entering your zip code you can identify the major sources of pollution in your area and your community's environmental ranking. Links provide access to local environmental organizations, and to the e-mail addresses of local government officials.
