about the amherst library

Reference librarians are available in the campus computer lab to help our students find the resources they need to succeed in Medaille's Accelerated and Graduate Programs. The Library's electronic databases, journals, and electronic books are available remotely, any time of the day or night, to all Medaille students, staff and faculty.

Services

Reference: The Library provides reference services during all hours that the library is open. Our librarians are situated in the computer lab and can assist you with fulfilling all of your information needs. After hours, or if you can't come in to the library, you can chat live with a Medaille reference librarian right from the Library's home page.

Finally, if there are no Medaille librarians available by chat, you can click on the "Ask Us 24/7" link on the Library's website. Ask Us 24/7 is a consortial virtual reference service whose librarians are located around the nation.

Interlibrary Loan: If Medaille doesn't have the book or article that you need, you may request it via interlibrary loan. If you've already determined that the Library doesn't have the book you need, you can fill out the online form, which is available on the Library's website. Please note that it can take up to 2 weeks to receive items via ILL.

Library Instruction: The Library offers general and course-specific informational sessions to introduce Medaille students to the library's resources. Instructors can contact Andrew Yeager to set up sessions for their classes.
